Initiative from mentors from INUVA and Innovation South Greenland has brought new energy to local businesses in South Greenland.
Entrepreneurs from Nanortalik, Qaqortoq, Narsaq, Igaliku, Qassiarsuk, and nearby sheep farms joined a mentoring program designed to help turn their ideas and plans into real developments in their businesses.
This mentorship program, called the Inclusive Business Incubator (IBI), is funded by USAID, a U.S. development agency, and organized by Resonance Global, INUVA, and Innovation South Greenland (ISG).
The IBI mentor program has recently concluded, proving to be very successful. Entrepreneurs received individual guidance over two months, which helped them develop their businesses.
– Small steps that mean a lot have been taken, and we’ve had productive discussions with each company. The mentors received positive feedback about the individual conversation method, because being an entrepreneur can often be quite lonely,” said Maria Motzfeldt from INUVA.
Positive Outcomes for Entrepreneurs
USAID funded the mentoring program to promote development in South Greenland. The IBI mentor program kicked off in early May in Qaqortoq, where all the participants met Shayna Krasnoff from Resonance Global, representing USAID.
In June, three seminars were held in Nanortalik, Qaqortoq, and Qassiarsuk, where participants received certificates for their involvement.
Nalik Ventures also participated in the seminars to explore future business opportunities in South Greenland.
INUVA is pleased with the program’s success and hopes for more collaborations in the future.
– We are happy with our partnership with Innovation South Greenland and hope for more collaborations. We see positive development among local businesses, said Claus Christoffersen from INUVA.
The mentoring program had about 15 participants and was supported by USAID, INUVA, and Innovation South Greenland.
